Local know-how to help you travel smarter and make the most of every moment.
Public Bus
If you are staying in Ubud, head to the Ubud Central Bus Station. Look for bus services that travel towards Karangasem. Get on a bus that goes to Amlapura, the capital of Karangasem Regency. Once in Amlapura, you can take a local bemo (minibus) traveling towards Selat. Inform the driver to drop you off at East Duda, which is close to Air Terjun Jagasatru. From there, it’s a short walk to the waterfall.
Bicycle
From Amlapura, you can rent a bicycle. Head east on Jalan Gajah Mada, then turn left onto Jalan Raya Selat. Continue straight, enjoying the scenic views. Follow the road signs towards Selat. After about 10 kilometers, you will arrive at East Duda. Look for signs indicating Air Terjun Jagasatru, which will guide you to the entrance of the waterfall.
Walking
If you are already in East Duda, find your way to the main road (Jalan Raya Selat). Walk towards the direction of Selat Village. Look for local signs directing tourists to Air Terjun Jagasatru. The waterfall is about a 20-minute walk from the center of East Duda. Follow the path that leads down towards the valley; you will eventually hear the sound of the waterfall.
Scooter Rental
Rent a scooter from a shop in either Ubud or Amlapura. From Amlapura, take the road heading east towards Selat. Follow Jalan Raya Selat for about 15 kilometers. When you reach East Duda, keep an eye out for local signs directing you towards Air Terjun Jagasatru. It’s a well-known spot, so locals can help guide you if needed.
