From Ubud, head to the Ubud Central Bus Station. Take a bus heading towards Bangli or Kintamani. The journey will take approximately 1-1.5 hours. Inform the driver or conductor to drop you at the nearest stop to Mount Batur. The bus will drop you off at the main road near Kintamani. From there, you might need to walk or hire a local ojek (motorcycle taxi) to reach Jl. Pura Bukit Catu.

If you are in Ubud, you can rent a bicycle and ride towards Kintamani. The distance is about 30 km and it takes around 2-3 hours depending on your pace. Follow the main road (Jl. Raya Ubud) until you reach Jl. Raya Kintamani. As you approach Kintamani, look for signs directing you to Mount Batur. Once you reach the area, navigate towards Jl. Pura Bukit Catu, where the hiking starts.

For adventurous tourists staying in the Kintamani area, you can hike to the base of Mount Batur. This is recommended only for those who are physically fit. Begin your walk from Kintamani town center. Follow the signs towards Mount Batur, and ask locals for directions to Jl. Pura Bukit Catu, which is the trailhead for the hike.

If you are in Ubud or any nearby area, you can use an ojek for a quicker option. Use a local ride-hailing app or ask your accommodation to arrange an ojek for you.
