Walking
If you are in central Ubud, you can easily walk to the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary. Head south on Jl. Raya Ubud until you reach the T-junction. Turn left onto Jl. Monkey Forest. Continue walking straight for about 1 kilometer. The entrance to the sanctuary will be on your left. The walk takes approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on your pace. Make sure to stay hydrated, as it can be warm.
Bicycle Rental
Bicycles are available for rent at various shops around Ubud. Rent a bicycle for about 50,000 to 100,000 IDR per day. From the rental shop, head towards Jl. Raya Ubud and then turn left onto Jl. Monkey Forest. The sanctuary is about 1 kilometer from the main road. Riding a bicycle will take approximately 5-10 minutes, and it’s a fun way to explore the area.
Local Transport (Ojek)
You can also use an ojek (motorcycle taxi) to reach the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary. Use a local app like Gojek or Grab to book a ride. The fare from most locations in Ubud should be around 15,000 to 30,000 IDR. The driver will take you directly to the entrance of the sanctuary. This option is quick and convenient, taking about 5-10 minutes depending on traffic.
