Car
If you are driving, start from the main road in Bukit Lawang. Head southeast on Jalan Jend. Sudirman toward Jalan Lintas Sumatera. Continue for about 3 kilometers until you reach the entrance of the Botanical Garden, located at coordinates 3.5401477, 98.1300628. There is parking available at the entrance. Note that you may need to pay a parking fee, which can vary.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a local 'angkot' (minibus) from Bukit Lawang to Bohorok. The fare is usually around IDR 10,000 - IDR 15,000. Once you reach Bohorok, you can ask the driver or locals for directions to the Botanical Garden, which is approximately a 10-minute walk from the angkot drop-off point. The garden is well-signposted, so keep an eye out for signs.
Walking
If you prefer walking and are staying close to the center of Bukit Lawang, you can walk to the Botanical Garden. Head southeast on Jalan Jend. Sudirman, then follow the signs toward Bohorok. The walk is about 3 kilometers and will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Enjoy the scenic views along the way, as you will pass through lush greenery.
