Car
If you are driving from Bukit Lawang to Tangkahan Camp, start by heading east on Jl. Lintas Sumatera towards Stabat. Continue on this road for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach a fork. Keep to the left to stay on Jl. Lintas Sumatera. After about 5 kilometers, you will see signs for Namu Sialang. Turn left onto the dirt road heading towards the camp site. Follow this road for about 3 kilometers until you reach Tangkahan Camp. Make sure to watch out for potholes and other vehicles on this unpaved road.

To reach Tangkahan Camp from Bukit Lawang using public transportation, first take a local minivan (often referred to as 'angkot') from Bukit Lawang to Stabat.
