• Car

  If you are driving from anywhere in Central Papua, first make your way to the nearest major road that leads to the city of Jayapura. Use GPS to navigate towards the Trans Papua Highway, which is the main route connecting various parts of Papua. Once you reach Jayapura, follow the signs to the airport area and then look for signs leading to Merdeka Square in Central Jakarta. Be mindful of local traffic regulations and road conditions. Upon arrival at Merdeka Square, you will find Monas located in the center of the square.

• Public Transportation - Bus

  For those opting for public transport, start by finding a local bus terminal in your area. Take a bus heading towards Jayapura, which typically takes about 3-6 hours depending on your starting point. Once you arrive at Jayapura, head to the main bus station and look for a bus that goes to Jakarta. This journey can take several hours, so plan accordingly. Upon reaching Jakarta, use local transportation (like a taxi or ride-sharing service) to get to Merdeka Square where Monas is located.

• Public Transportation - Taxi/Ride-sharing

  If you prefer more direct transportation after arriving in Jakarta, you can use a taxi or a ride-sharing app like Gojek or Grab. Input 'Merdeka Square' or 'Monas' as your destination. The fare will vary based on your starting location, but you can expect to pay around IDR 50,000 to IDR 150,000 depending on traffic and distance. This method is the most convenient if you have luggage or prefer not to navigate public transport systems.
