Car
If you are driving from Merauke, head south on Jl. Trans Papua. Continue on this road for approximately 40 kilometers until you reach the Sota area. The border post is located directly on Jl. Trans Papua. Look for signs indicating the SOTA BORDER POS (PLBN) as you approach the entrance.
Public Transportation
From Merauke, you can take a public minibus (angkot) heading towards Sota. The journey will take around 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic. Ensure you inform the driver that you want to stop at SOTA BORDER POS (PLBN). The fare is typically around IDR 30,000 - 50,000. Once you arrive in Sota, you may need to walk approximately 1 km to reach the border post.
Motorcycle Taxi
For quicker access from Sota town, you can hire a motorcycle taxi (ojek) which can be found near public transport terminals. The ride to SOTA BORDER POS will take approximately 10-15 minutes and costs around IDR 20,000 - 30,000.
