Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Palu, the provincial capital of Central Sulawesi. Take the Trans-Sulawesi Highway (Route 1) towards the city of Poso. This drive will take approximately 6-8 hours depending on traffic and road conditions. Once you reach Poso, follow the signs to the town of Ampana, which is about 2 hours away. From Ampana, you will need to head to Wakai, which is the closest access point to Kepulauan Togean National Park. A ferry will take you from Ampana to Wakai. Make sure to check the ferry schedule in advance as they may not run frequently. The ferry ride takes around 1.5 hours.

Public Transportation (Bus)
For those opting for public transportation, head to the main bus terminal in Palu. Catch a bus heading towards Poso; this journey will take about 6-7 hours. Once in Poso, transfer to a bus going to Ampana, which will take an additional 2 hours. From Ampana, you will need to take a boat or ferry to Wakai. It's advisable to confirm the ferry schedule ahead of time, as times can vary. The ferry ride typically lasts around 1.5 hours before arriving at Wakai, the gateway to Kepulauan Togean National Park.
