Car
If you are driving from Malang, head east on Jl. Raya Malang - Lumajang (Jl. Raya Sawojajar) for about 20 km. Once you reach the small town of Poncokusumo, follow the signs for Coban Pelangi. Turn right onto Jl. Coban Pelangi and continue for about 5 km until you reach the parking area near the waterfall. Be prepared for some narrow roads and keep an eye out for local traffic.
Public Transportation
To reach Coban Pelangi by public transportation from Malang, take a minibus (angkot) from Malang to Poncokusumo. The fare is approximately IDR 20,000. Once in Poncokusumo, you can hire a local motorcycle taxi (ojek) to take you the remaining 5 km to the waterfall. The motorcycle taxi fare should be around IDR 15,000 to IDR 25,000, depending on your negotiation skills.
Hiking
Once you arrive at the parking area near Coban Pelangi, you will need to hike approximately 1 km to reach the waterfall. The trail is well-marked but can be steep in some sections, so wear comfortable shoes and bring water. The hike takes about 20-30 minutes depending on your pace.
