Car
Start your journey from Surabaya, East Java. Drive southeast on Jalan Raya Surabaya-Madura (National Road 10) towards Sumenep. The distance is approximately 200 km and takes about 4-5 hours. Once in Sumenep, follow the signs to Dungkek. From Dungkek, you will need to take a boat to Gili Iyang. Make sure to ask locals or use a mapping app for the best route.
Public Bus
From Surabaya, catch a bus to Sumenep at the Bungurasih Bus Terminal. The bus ride will take around 6-7 hours. Once you arrive in Sumenep, you can take a local transport (ojek or shared taxi) to Dungkek. The fare should be around IDR 20,000-30,000. After reaching Dungkek, you will need to hire a boat to take you to Gili Iyang. The boat ride costs approximately IDR 100,000-150,000 per person.
Private Taxi
If you prefer a more comfortable option, you can hire a private taxi from Surabaya to Gili Iyang. This option will take about 4-5 hours of driving to Sumenep, followed by a short ride to Dungkek for a boat transfer. Expect to pay around IDR 1,200,000-1,500,000 for the taxi, excluding the boat fare.
Motorbike Rental
For the adventurous, consider renting a motorbike in Surabaya. Ride southeast towards Sumenep via Jalan Raya Surabaya-Madura. After reaching Sumenep, head to Dungkek. The total journey may take around 5-6 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions. Ensure you have a valid license and are comfortable riding. After arriving in Dungkek, hire a local boat to Gili Iyang.
