Getting There

• Car

  Start your journey from Balikpapan, East Kalimantan. Drive south on the Trans Kalimantan Highway (Route 1) towards Samarinda. Continue on this highway for approximately 180 km until you reach Banjarmasin. From Banjarmasin, switch to Route 2 heading towards Ketapang. After about 200 km, take the exit towards Kabupaten Ketapang. Follow the signs for Ketapang Regency. Once in Ketapang, navigate to Dusun Sengkuang in Benua Krio. Use GPS coordinates (-1.0620289, 110.7574607) to locate Kerajaan Hulu Aik. Expect the entire drive to take around 6-7 hours, depending on traffic conditions.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  From Balikpapan, take a bus to Banjarmasin. Several bus companies operate this route, and the journey usually lasts around 5-6 hours. Upon arriving in Banjarmasin, transfer to a bus heading towards Ketapang. This leg of the journey can take an additional 8-10 hours. Once in Ketapang, you can hire a local taxi or a motorcycle taxi (ojek) to reach Dusun Sengkuang in Benua Krio, which is approximately 30 km from Ketapang center.   For a quicker option, fly from Jakarta or Surabaya to Supadio International Airport in Pontianak. Once you arrive, rent a car and drive towards Ketapang. Follow the signs for Trans Kalimantan Highway (Route 1) then switch to Route 2 towards Ketapang. It is approximately a 7-hour drive. Upon reaching Ketapang, use GPS coordinates (-1.0620289, 110.7574607) to navigate to Kerajaan Hulu Aik in Dusun Sengkuang. Rental car prices vary, but expect to pay around IDR 400,000 to IDR 800,000 per day.
