To reach Sungai Negara from Balikpapan, take the Jalan Soekarno-Hatta (Highway 1) heading south. Continue for approximately 300 km until you reach Marabahan. Once in Marabahan, follow the signs towards Marabahan Kota. Sungai Negara is located near the Marabahan area along the Barito River. The drive takes around 6-7 hours depending on traffic conditions. Make sure to check your fuel levels, as there are limited fuel stations on the way.

From Balikpapan, take a bus from the Terminal Batu Ampar to Banjarmasin. The bus ride takes about 7-8 hours and costs around IDR 150,000.
