If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Highlands Papua and take the main road towards Jayapura. Follow the signs for the Trans Papua Highway. After approximately 3-4 hours, you will reach Sentani. From Sentani, continue to follow the signs for the Jayapura - Merauke road, which leads to the coastal areas. Once you reach the coastal region, take a flight from Sentani International Airport to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta. From the airport, you can take a taxi or ride-sharing service to Merdeka Square. The distance from the airport to Monas is around 35km, which may take approximately 1 hour depending on traffic.

For those opting for public transport, begin your journey from Highlands Papua to Jayapura by taking a minibus or shared taxi (known locally as 'angkot'). The fare for the minibus is around IDR 50,000. Once you reach Jayapura, head to Sentani Airport. Purchase a domestic flight ticket to Jakarta (prices vary, typically around IDR 1,000,000 - IDR 1,500,000). After arriving at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, you can take the DAMRI bus service to Gambir Station, which costs about IDR 40,000. From Gambir Station, it is a short taxi ride to Merdeka Square, where Monas is located.
