Vihara Dhanagun: A Serene Buddhist Sanctuary in Bogor

Getting There

• Train

  Start by heading to the nearest commuter line train station in Jakarta. If you are in central Jakarta, you can go to the Jakarta Kota station or any nearby station. Purchase a ticket to Bogor station. The train ride typically takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive at Bogor Station, exit the station and look for the angkot (minibus) that goes to Bogor Tengah. You can ask locals for the specific angkot number. Get on the angkot and tell the driver you want to get off at Babakan Pasar. The Vihara Dhanagun is a short walk from where the angkot stops.

• Bus

  From your location in Jakarta, make your way to a major bus terminal such as Terminal Kampung Rambutan or Terminal Blok M. Look for buses heading to Bogor. Once you arrive at Bogor, you can take an angkot to Babakan Pasar. Ask the driver to drop you off near Vihara Dhanagun. The temple is within walking distance from the angkot stop.

• Ride-hailing Service

  Use a ride-hailing app like Gojek or Grab, which are popular in Jakarta. Input 'Vihara Dhanagun, Bogor' as your destination. The driver will pick you up from your location and take you directly to the temple. This option is convenient if you prefer a direct route without needing to transfer between different modes of transport.

• Walking from Bogor City Center

  If you are already in Bogor City Center, you can walk to Vihara Dhanagun. Head southeast on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman until you reach Jalan Raya Pajajaran. Continue on Jalan Raya Pajajaran until you find an intersection with Jalan Babakan Pasar. Turn left onto Jalan Babakan Pasar and follow it for about 1 kilometer. The Vihara Dhanagun will be on your right.
