From the city center of Jambi, head east on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman. Continue straight for about 8 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Jalan Lintas Sumatera (Trans-Sumatra Highway). Turn left onto Jalan Lintas Sumatera and drive for about 12 kilometers. Look for the signs indicating 'Muaro Jambi' and take the exit towards Muaro Jambi. After approximately 2 kilometers, turn right onto a smaller road leading to Candi Gumpung. Follow the signs for another 2 kilometers, and you will arrive at Candi Gumpung located at GMF8+4Q8, Muaro Jambi. Make sure to check for parking availability upon arrival.
Public Transportation
From the Jambi city center, head to the local bus terminal (Terminal Angkutan Kota) and look for buses or minivans (angkot) heading to Muaro Jambi. The fare is typically around 15,000 IDR. Once you arrive in Muaro Jambi, ask the driver or locals for directions to Candi Gumpung, which is about 5 kilometers from the main bus stop. You may need to take a motorcycle taxi (ojek) or walk if the distance is manageable. The motorcycle taxi fare should be around 10,000 IDR. Upon reaching Candi Gumpung, enjoy the historical site.
