Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the nearest major city, such as Yogyakarta. Head east on the Jalan Raya Yogyakarta-Solo road (also known as Jalan Solo). Continue on this road for approximately 50 kilometers until you reach Surakarta City. Once you arrive in Surakarta, look for signs directing you to the city center. As you approach the city center, turn onto Jl. Slamet Riyadi, which is the main road through the city. Follow this road until you reach Jl. Kamandungan. The Keraton Surakarta Hadiningrat will be on your left, just past the intersection with Jl. Baluwarti. There is parking available nearby.
Public Transportation
To reach Keraton Surakarta Hadiningrat by public transportation, first take a train to Solo Balapan Station from Yogyakarta or Semarang. Once you arrive at Solo Balapan Station, exit the station and find the local angkot (minibus) service that runs to the city center. You can take the angkot labeled 'B' that goes to Jl. Slamet Riyadi. Get off at the stop closest to Jl. Kamandungan. From there, it’s about a 10-minute walk to the Keraton. Just follow Jl. Kamandungan, and you will see the entrance to the Keraton on your right.
