Walking
If you are starting from Malioboro Street, one of the main tourist areas in Yogyakarta, walk towards the north. Continue straight until you reach the intersection at Tugu Yogyakarta (Yogyakarta Monument). From Tugu, turn left onto Jl. Pahlawan. Keep walking straight for about 1 kilometer until you see the entrance to the Special Region of Yogyakarta on your left. The area is well-marked, and you will see signs directing you towards various attractions.

Locate the nearest Trans Jogja bus stop, which you can find easily around Malioboro. Take the bus number 1A or 1B heading towards the terminal at Jombor or Giwangan. Get off at the 'Bubutan' stop.
