• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from Solo (Surakarta), which is one of the major cities in Central Java. Head east on Jl. Adi Sucipto towards Jl. Slamet Riyadi. Continue straight to merge onto Jl. Solo - Tawangmangu. Follow this road for approximately 30 kilometers. You will pass through several small villages and scenic landscapes. As you approach Tawangmangu, watch for signs directing you towards The Lawu Park. Once in Tawangmangu, follow the signs to Bulakrejo. The park is located at Bulakrejo, Gondosuli Kidul, Kec. Tawangmangu, Kabupaten Karanganyar. Remember to park in designated areas and be cautious of local traffic.

• Public Transportation - Bus

  To reach The Lawu Park using public transportation, you can take a bus from Solo to Tawangmangu. Buses leave from the Tirtonadi Bus Station in Solo. Look for buses heading to Tawangmangu or Karanganyar. The journey takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive in Tawangmangu, you can hire an ojek (motorcycle taxi) or a local angkot (minibus) to take you to Bulakrejo where the park is located. Make sure to confirm the fare with the driver before starting your ride, which may cost around IDR 20,000 to IDR 30,000.

• Public Transportation - Train and Ojek

  Another option is to take a train from Jakarta or Yogyakarta to Solo. Once you arrive at Solo Balapan Station, you can transfer to a bus heading to Tawangmangu. After reaching Tawangmangu, hire an ojek to take you directly to The Lawu Park in Bulakrejo. The total travel time from Solo can take about 3 to 4 hours, including transfer times. Ensure to check the train schedules in advance and be aware of the train fare.
