Car
If you are traveling by car, you can start your journey from the town of Tuk-Tuk, which is a popular tourist area around Lake Toba. From Tuk-Tuk, drive south on the Jl. Samosir road for about 10 km until you reach the town of Pangururan. Look for signs directing you to Aek Rangat, which is situated a few kilometers west of Pangururan. The drive should take approximately 20-30 minutes. Parking is available near the site.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a local minibus (angkot) from Tuk-Tuk to Pangururan. The fare is typically around 20,000 IDR per person and the journey takes about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in Pangururan, you can take another angkot or a motorcycle taxi (ojek) to reach Aek Rangat, which is about 5 km away. The motorcycle taxi ride costs around 15,000 to 25,000 IDR depending on your negotiation skills.
Walking
If you are already in Pangururan and prefer a more adventurous route, you can walk to Aek Rangat. The walk will take approximately 1-1.5 hours, depending on your pace. Head west from the main road in Pangururan and follow the signs towards Aek Rangat. This route offers beautiful views of the surrounding landscape but be prepared for some steep areas.
