Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from Parapat, take the Jalan Lintas Sumatera road heading north. Continue until you reach the junction at Hatinggian. Turn left onto Jalan Jonggi Nihuta. Follow this road for approximately 10 kilometers, and you will see signs directing you to Situmurun Waterfall. There is parking available near the entrance, and be prepared to pay a small fee for parking, typically around IDR 10,000.

  • Public Transportation

    Start by taking a local minibus (angkot) from Parapat to Balige. This ride will cost around IDR 15,000 and takes about 30-45 minutes. Once in Balige, transfer to another angkot heading to Hatinggian. After reaching Hatinggian, you will need to take a short motorcycle taxi (ojek) to the waterfall entrance for about IDR 20,000. Be sure to confirm the fare with the driver before leaving.

    If you're already near Hatinggian after arriving by public transport, you can walk to Situmurun Waterfall. The path is approximately 2 kilometers from the main road.
