Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the nearest major city, Ternate. Drive to the Morotai Island Regency via ferry from Ternate to Morotai. Once you arrive at Morotai Island, head south towards Darame. Follow local road signs towards Army Dock Beach (27MP+GXH, Darame, Morotai Selatan). The drive from the ferry terminal to the beach should take approximately 1 hour. Ensure to have a local map or GPS as some roads might not be well-marked.
Public Transportation
For travelers using public transportation, take a bus or shared taxi (angkot) from Ternate to the ferry terminal. The ferry to Morotai Island will take about 2-3 hours. Once on Morotai, locate a local angkot that heads towards Darame. You may need to ask locals for the best route, as services can vary. After getting to Darame, you can either walk or hire a local motorcycle taxi (ojek) to reach Army Dock Beach, which is about 10 minutes away.
Motorcycle Taxi
If you prefer a quicker and more flexible option, you can hire a motorcycle taxi (ojek) after reaching Morotai Island. Simply inform the driver that you want to go to Army Dock Beach. The cost for the ride should be negotiated beforehand, but expect to pay around 20,000 to 30,000 IDR depending on your starting point.
Use Army Dock Beach as your starting point for nearby food, family ideas, nightlife, and more local discoveries.
