If you are starting from the city of Ambon, drive towards the port of Tulehu, which is about 30 kilometers from Ambon. Follow the signs for the Tulehu Ferry Terminal. After reaching the port, take a ferry to Saparua Island. The ferry ride takes approximately 1.5 hours and costs around IDR 30,000 per person. Once you arrive at Saparua, drive or take a local transportation service towards the town of Saparua. Benteng Duurstede is located approximately 5 kilometers from the port, and you can get there by following Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, which leads directly to the fortress.

Public Transportation (Bus and Ferry)
From Ambon, you can take a public bus to Tulehu, which costs about IDR 20,000. Buses leave frequently, and the journey takes about 45 minutes. After arriving at Tulehu, purchase a ticket for the ferry to Saparua Island, which costs around IDR 30,000 and takes about 1.5 hours. Once you arrive at Saparua, you can take a local angkot (minibus) or ojek (motorcycle taxi) to Benteng Duurstede. The angkot ride will cost around IDR 10,000 to 15,000 and takes about 15 minutes.

If you prefer more independence, consider renting a motorcycle in Saparua. After arriving via ferry, you can rent a motorcycle for about IDR 75,000 to 100,000 per day.
