The fortress is located in the northern part of Saparua.

    To reach Benteng Duurstede via public transportation, first, take a minibus (angkot) from Ambon to Tulehu, costing around IDR 10,000. At Tulehu, board the ferry to Saparua Island (fare is about IDR 20,000-30,000). Once on Saparua Island, take another angkot or a ojek (motorcycle taxi) to the fortress. The cost for an ojek to Benteng Duurstede is approximately IDR 25,000-50,000 depending on your negotiation skills.
