Boat
To reach Bunaken Island from Manado, take a taxi or a local ride-hailing service to the Manado Marina. The marina is located approximately 14 km from the city center. Once you arrive at the marina, you can purchase a ticket for a speedboat or a traditional boat (called a 'kapal') that goes to Bunaken. The boat ride typically takes about 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the type of boat and weather conditions. Make sure to check the boat schedule, as there are multiple departures throughout the day.
Public Transport (Angkot)
You can also take an Angkot (public minibus) to reach the marina. Head to a nearby Angkot stop and catch an Angkot heading towards 'Malalayang' or 'Kima Atas'. Inform the driver that you want to go to Manado Marina. The fare is usually inexpensive, around 5,000 - 10,000 IDR. Once you reach the marina, follow the signs to the ticket booth for boats to Bunaken.
