Public Transport
From Manado city center, head to the nearest bus terminal (Terminal Pakuan) and look for a bus heading to Tomohon. Make sure to ask the driver if they stop at Kakaskasen. The ride will take approximately 30-45 minutes. Once you arrive in Tomohon, you can ask locals for the direction to Mount Mahawu, which is about 15 minutes away by walking. Follow the main road until you reach the entrance of the Mount Mahawu hiking area.

Walking from Tomohon
If you are already in Tomohon, you can walk to Mount Mahawu. From the Tomohon market, head east on Jl. Kesehatan, then take a left on Jl. Kakaskasen. Follow this road straight until you see signs for Mount Mahawu. The walk will take about 30 minutes, and you will enjoy the scenic views along the way.
