Getting There

• Car

  If you're travelling by car, start from the main entrance of Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. Drive towards the main parking area located in Cemoro Lawang. From there, you will need to hire a 4WD vehicle (typically costing around IDR 400,000 - IDR 600,000 for a round trip) to reach the Kawah Gunung Bromo. The 4WD vehicle will take you through a rough terrain to the viewpoint area near the crater. Once you arrive, you can walk the remaining distance to the crater's edge, which is about a 1.5 km walk up a steep path.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, take a bus or minivan from Surabaya or Malang to Probolinggo. The fare typically ranges between IDR 50,000 - IDR 100,000. From Probolinggo, take a local bus or shared minivan to Cemoro Lawang (costing around IDR 30,000 - IDR 50,000). Once in Cemoro Lawang, you will need to hire a 4WD vehicle to reach Kawah Gunung Bromo (approximately IDR 400,000 - IDR 600,000 for a round trip). After reaching the drop-off point, walk the remaining 1.5 km to the crater.
