Car Rental
From Manado, the capital of North Sulawesi, rent a car and head south on Jalan Raya Manado-Tomohon. The drive takes about 1 hour and covers approximately 30 kilometers. Follow the signs towards Tomohon. Once in Tomohon, continue to Kayawu where Mt Lokon is located. Look for signs directing you to the mountain area. Parking is available at the foot of the mountain.

Public Transportation (Minibus)
From Manado, take a minibus (also known locally as 'angkot') from the city center to Tomohon. The fare is typically around IDR 25,000 (subject to change) and the journey lasts approximately 1 hour. Once in Tomohon, transfer to another minibus heading to Kayawu. Make sure to inform the driver you are going to Mt Lokon. The fare for this leg is about IDR 10,000. After reaching Kayawu, you will need to walk or take a local motorcycle taxi (ojek) to the base of the mountain.

Once you arrive in Kayawu, you can hire a motorcycle taxi (ojek) to take you to the base of Mt Lokon. The ride will cost around IDR 20,000 to IDR 30,000 depending on your negotiation skills. The journey takes about 15-20 minutes. Make sure to confirm the price before starting your ride.
