Getting There

• Car

  If you have access to a car, start your journey from any location in Pulau Bunaken and head to the nearest ferry terminal, which is located in Manado. You can either take a taxi or drive yourself to the terminal. The ferry ride to Manado takes about 30 minutes and costs around IDR 50,000 (approximately $3). Once you arrive in Manado, follow the signs to the main road heading towards the North Minahasa Regency. Continue on the road for about 45 minutes, heading towards Lembean, Kauditan. Look for directions to Mount Klabat as you approach the area. Once you reach the base of Mount Klabat, you can find parking available nearby.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Mount Klabat using public transportation, first, take a boat from Pulau Bunaken to Manado. The boat ride takes around 30 minutes and costs approximately IDR 50,000. Upon arriving in Manado, head to the local bus terminal where you can catch a bus or minivan heading towards Kauditan. The fare for this journey is around IDR 20,000 (about $1.50) and the trip will take about 1 hour. Ask the driver to drop you off at Lembean, which is the closest point to Mount Klabat. From there, you may need to take a local taxi or walk to the base of the mountain, depending on how far you are from the entrance.

• Taxi

  For a more direct route, consider taking a taxi from Manado to Mount Klabat. After arriving in Manado via ferry from Pulau Bunaken, hire a taxi at the terminal. The taxi ride to Mount Klabat will take approximately 1 hour and can cost around IDR 300,000 to IDR 400,000 (approximately $20 to $27). Ensure you negotiate the fare beforehand or ask the driver to use the meter. The taxi will take you directly to the base of Mount Klabat.
