Getting There

• Public Transportation - Minibus

  From the center of Manado, head to the nearest major bus terminal, known as Terminal Paal Dua. You can take a local taxi or ride-sharing service to get there. Once at Terminal Paal Dua, look for minibuses (often called 'angkot') heading towards Airmadidi. Make sure to ask the driver if they go to 'Airmadidi Atas'. The fare is usually affordable, around 10,000 IDR. The journey will take approximately 30-45 minutes depending on traffic.

• Walking

  Once you arrive in Airmadidi, you will need to disembark at the Airmadidi market area. From there, head north along Jalan Trans Sulawesi for about 1 kilometer. You will see signs pointing towards Danau Gunung Klabat. The walk will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Follow the road until you reach a small path that leads directly to the lake.

• Bicycle Rental

  If you're comfortable cycling, consider renting a bicycle in Manado. From the city center, make your way towards Airmadidi via Jalan Raya Manado-Bitung. Keep an eye out for the directional signs towards Danau Gunung Klabat as you approach Airmadidi. Once in Airmadidi, bike towards the lake along the same route as mentioned above. The total cycling distance is around 15 kilometers and will take about an hour depending on your pace.

• Walking Tour

  For a more adventurous option, if you're starting from the center of Manado, you can embark on a walking tour heading towards Airmadidi. This will involve a long trek of approximately 15 kilometers. Follow the main roads, keeping an eye on the local maps or ask locals for directions. This option is ideal for those who enjoy hiking and wish to explore the local area up close, but it could take several hours.
