If you're traveling by car, start your journey from Berau, the nearest major town. Head southeast on Jalan Raya Berau and continue for approximately 40 km until you reach Tanjung Redeb. From there, follow the signs to the harbor, where you can park your car. The harbor is the main departure point for boats to Pulau Derawan. Ensure you check the boat schedule ahead of time as they may vary. Parking fees at the harbor are typically around IDR 20,000 per day.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a minibus or local bus from Berau to Tanjung Redeb. These minibuses run frequently, and the fare is usually around IDR 15,000 per person. Once you arrive in Tanjung Redeb, head to the harbor to catch a speedboat or traditional boat to Pulau Derawan. The boat ride takes about 30 to 45 minutes and costs approximately IDR 75,000 to IDR 100,000 per person depending on the type of boat.
