Car
If you are starting from Padang, the capital of West Sumatra, you can rent a car or use a private taxi. Head east on Jalan Raya Padang - Bukittinggi (Route 32) for approximately 70 km. After reaching the town of Solok, take the exit towards Danau Kembar. Continue driving for about 15 km until you reach Bukit Cambai. The road may have some steep inclines, so drive carefully. Parking is available near the hill.
Public Bus
From Padang, you can take a public bus from the Terminal Alang-Alang Lebar to Solok. The bus fare is around IDR 30,000. The journey takes about 2-3 hours. Once in Solok, you will need to find a local angkot (minibus) that goes to Danau Kembar. The fare for the angkot is approximately IDR 10,000. Inform the driver that you want to go to Bukit Cambai; the driver will drop you off at the nearest point to the hill.
Motorbike Taxi (Ojek)
If you are in Solok and prefer a quicker option, you can hire a motorbike taxi (ojek) to take you to Cambai Hill. You can find ojek drivers around the bus terminal. Negotiate the fare, which should be around IDR 20,000 to IDR 30,000 for a one-way trip. This option gives you a more direct route to the hill.
Walking
Once you reach the base of Cambai Hill, prepare for a moderate hike. The trail is well-marked, and the hike takes about 30-45 minutes depending on your pace. Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring enough water, as there are no vendors on the trail.
