Getting There
Public Bus
If you're starting from the center of Surabaya, head to the nearest public bus stop (known as 'angkot' stop). Take the green angkot (public minibus) that goes towards Wonokromo. Inform the driver that you want to go to Surabaya Zoo. The fare is usually around IDR 5,000. The bus will take you through various streets, and you should keep an eye out for signs indicating you're near Jl. Setail. Once you reach the stop, get off and walk approximately 500 meters to the entrance of the zoo.
Bicycle Rental
For a more active approach, consider renting a bicycle. There are several rental shops in the city. Once you have your bike, head towards Jl. Setail. From the city center, ride down Jl. Basuki Rahmat until you reach Jl. Darmo. Turn left onto Jl. Darmo and continue straight. After about 2 kilometers, you will see signs for Surabaya Zoo. Follow the signs to the zoo entrance, which is located at Jl. Setail No.1.
Walking
If you're close to Wonokromo, you can walk to the zoo. Start at the Wonokromo train station, which is about 1.5 kilometers from the zoo. Exit the station and head south on Jl. Wonokromo. Continue straight until you reach Jl. Setail. Turn left and walk for about 500 meters. The zoo entrance will be on your right. Make sure to stay hydrated, especially on hot days, and enjoy the local scenery along the way.
Ride-Hailing Service
Using a ride-hailing app like Gojek or Grab is a convenient option. Just open the app and set your destination to 'Surabaya Zoo' or enter the address: Jl. Setail No.1, Darmo, Kec. Wonokromo. The driver will pick you up from your location and take you directly to the zoo. The fare will vary depending on your starting point, but it's typically affordable. This is the easiest way to reach the zoo without needing to navigate public transport.
