Getting There

• Car Rental

  If you are comfortable driving, renting a car is a great option. From Ubud, head east on Jalan Raya Ubud. Follow the signs to Gianyar and continue on the main road. After approximately 30 minutes, you will reach the intersection in Amlapura. Turn left onto Jalan Raya Amlapura and keep following the road for about 30 minutes until you reach Tulamben. Look for signs indicating 'Tulamben Dive' as you approach the area. Parking is available near the dive center, but check for any parking fees.

• Private Taxi

  A convenient and straightforward option is to hire a private taxi. You can book a taxi through an app like Grab or negotiate a fare with a local taxi driver. The journey from Ubud to Tulamben typically takes around 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic. Expect to pay between IDR 400,000 to IDR 600,000 for the trip. Make sure to confirm the price before starting your journey.

• Public Bus

  For a more budget-friendly option, you can take a public bus from Ubud to Amlapura. Head to the Ubud Bus Station and find a bus heading to Amlapura. The bus ride will take about 1 hour. Once in Amlapura, you can take a local minivan or a bemo (shared taxi) to Tulamben, which is approximately 30 minutes away. The total cost for the bus and bemo can be around IDR 50,000 to IDR 100,000. Check with locals for the best bus schedules.

• Shared Shuttle

  Another option is to book a shared shuttle service. Several companies offer shuttle services from Ubud to Tulamben. You can book these shuttles online or through your hotel. The shuttle will pick you up from your accommodation in Ubud and drop you off at Tulamben Dive. The journey usually takes about 2 hours and costs around IDR 150,000 to IDR 250,000 per person. Ensure you check the pick-up times in advance.
