Fun Tour of the Country near Jakarta

This tour was a nice way to get out of Jakarta for the day. Kenzo, who took me from my hotel to the Whoosh train (and back at the end of the day) was really helpful explaining how the day would work (and making good suggestions for a massage when I got back). He was a really fun person to talk with. My guide in Bandung, Mustara, was really good - he met my train and gave me a lot of good information about the area, including the natural landscape and history. He really knows the area well. The rainbow waterfall was so beautiful, though you should be prepared for the 500+ steps down and back. The tea plantation gave amazing views of the valley and mountains. I loved the “floating market” but be aware that it is a fun park, not a real market. Still the food was good, and Mustara explained what it all was. Finally the Whoosh train was really nice; I actually wished the ride was longer it was so cool. The whole tour, including the overall length was very flexible (they don’t maje a return train reservation until they know when you will need it). Oh, also, it is a bit cooler in Bandung - nice to get out of the Jakarta heat. I got back to my Jakarta hotel in plenty of time for dinner. A great experience!
