Once you are on the road to Kawah Papandayan, follow the signs to Cisurupan. The journey may take approximately 2-3 hours depending on your starting point. There is a parking area available near the entrance to Kawah Papandayan, which may charge a small fee for parking.

To reach Kawah Papandayan using public transportation, first, take a bus or train to Garut. From Garut, you can catch a local minibus (angkot) that goes to Cisurupan. Make sure to ask the driver to drop you off at the closest point to Kawah Papandayan. The fare for the bus or train will vary, typically ranging from IDR 30,000 to IDR 100,000, and the angkot fare is around IDR 10,000. Once you arrive at Cisurupan, you may need to hire a local ojeg (motorcycle taxi) to reach the entrance of Kawah Papandayan. This ride will cost about IDR 20,000 to IDR 30,000.

Once you arrive at the entrance of Kawah Papandayan, you will need to hike to fully explore the area. The hike is relatively easy and well-marked, taking approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour to reach the main craters, depending on your pace. Ensure you bring water, snacks, and wear comfortable shoes. There is a small entrance fee for Kawah Papandayan, which is around IDR 20,000 per person.
