Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start by heading towards the city of Ciamis, which is well-connected to major cities in West Java. From Ciamis, follow the signs to Pangandaran. The drive from Ciamis to Pangandaran is approximately 90 kilometers and takes around 2 hours. Take the Jl. Raya Ciamis-Pangandaran road, which is a scenic route leading directly to the beach. Upon reaching Pangandaran, look for parking areas near the beach. Parking fees may apply, typically around IDR 10,000 per vehicle.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, begin your journey at the nearest bus terminal in your area. Look for a bus heading to Ciamis, which is a common route. The bus ride may take 3-4 hours depending on your starting location. Once in Ciamis, you can transfer to a local minibus or angkot (shared taxi) that goes directly to Pangandaran. The fare for the minibus is usually around IDR 20,000. The total travel time using public transport might take around 5-6 hours in total.

• Motorbike Rental

  If you prefer a more adventurous route, consider renting a motorbike in Ciamis. Several rental shops are available near the bus terminal. The cost is typically around IDR 100,000 per day, including fuel. Riding a motorbike gives you the flexibility to explore the beautiful countryside. Follow the same route as cars, and expect to reach Pangandaran in about 2 hours. Ensure you have a valid driver’s license and wear a helmet.

• Ride-Hailing Apps

  Alternatively, you can use ride-hailing apps like Gojek or Grab. These services are widely available in West Java. Simply book a ride to Pangandaran from your current location, and the driver will take you directly to the beach. The cost may vary based on distance but expect to pay around IDR 150,000 to IDR 300,000 depending on your starting point.
