If you are traveling by car from any location in West Java, first head towards the city of Bandung and take the Cileunyi toll road towards Cirebon. Follow the signs for the Tegal toll road, and then switch to the Purwokerto toll road. Continue until you see signs for Yogyakarta and take the exit towards Yogyakarta. Once you reach Yogyakarta, follow the signs to Prambanan Temple, which is located at Jl. Raya Solo - Yogyakarta No.16, Kranggan, Bokoharjo, Kec. Prambanan, Kabupaten Sleman. Parking is available at the site, but you may need to pay a fee for parking (approximately IDR 5,000).
Public Transportation
To reach Prambanan Temple using public transportation, start by taking a bus from Bandung to Yogyakarta. You can board a bus from Terminal Leuwi Panjang, and the journey will take approximately 10-12 hours. Once you arrive at the Yogyakarta bus terminal (Terminal Giwangan), you can take a local minibus (called 'angkot') heading to Prambanan or a taxi. The fare for the angkot is around IDR 10,000, and it will take about 30 minutes to reach the temple. Make sure to confirm the route with the driver to ensure you are going to the correct destination.
Train
Another efficient way to reach Prambanan is to take a train from Bandung to Yogyakarta. Head to the Bandung train station and purchase a ticket for a train heading to Yogyakarta. The journey lasts about 6-8 hours. Once you arrive at Yogyakarta train station, you can either take a taxi (approximately IDR 100,000) or a local angkot to reach Prambanan Temple. The angkot ride will take around 30 minutes, and costs about IDR 10,000.
