If you are driving from Padang, head east on Jalan Jendral Sudirman towards Jalan Diponegoro. Continue on Jalan Jendral Sudirman for about 30 km until you reach the junction at Lubuk Basung. Turn left onto Jalan Raya Lubuk Basung and follow the signs towards Matur. After approximately 15 km, you will see signs directing you to Puncak Lawang. As you approach, follow the signs for Jl.
