Public Bus
From the city center of Yogyakarta, head to the Jombor Bus Terminal. You can take a local taxi or a public minibus (angkot) to reach the terminal. Once at Jombor, look for buses heading to Magelang. Make sure to ask for a bus that stops at Borobudur. The journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Upon reaching Borobudur, you can take a local taxi or ojek (motorcycle taxi) to Bukit Barede, which is about a 15-minute ride. Ensure you confirm the address with the driver.
Motorcycle Taxi (Ojek)
If you are already in Borobudur, you can use a motorcycle taxi (ojek) from the Borobudur Temple area to Bukit Barede. Simply approach the nearest ojek driver and tell them you want to go to Bukit Barede at Sendaren 2, Karangrejo. The ride will take around 15 minutes. Confirm the fare before starting your journey.
Walking
If you are staying close to Bukit Barede in the Karangrejo area, you can walk there. Start by heading towards the main road from your accommodation and look for signage directing you towards Bukit Barede. The area is relatively small, and you can ask locals for directions if needed. It's a pleasant walk and will take approximately 30 minutes, allowing you to enjoy the scenery along the way.
