If you are in the Kotagede area, the Gembira Loka Zoo is approximately a 30-minute walk away. Start by heading east on Jl. Magelang, then turn left onto Jl. Pahlawan. Continue straight until you reach Jl. Kebun Raya. The zoo entrance will be on your right at Jl. Kebun Raya No.2.

Bicycle
Riding a bicycle is a great way to reach Gembira Loka Zoo. Rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Kotagede. Head east on Jl. Magelang, and then turn left onto Jl. Pahlawan. Follow the road straight to Jl. Kebun Raya and turn right. The zoo entrance is at Jl. Kebun Raya No.2. The bike rental costs around IDR 20,000 - IDR 50,000 for a few hours.

Public Transportation (Trans Jogja)
You can take the Trans Jogja bus service to get to Gembira Loka Zoo. From Kotagede, find the nearest bus stop for the Trans Jogja route 1A. Board the bus heading to the city center and alight at the stop 'Pojok Beteng'. From there, transfer to route 4B and get off at the 'Kebun Raya' stop. The zoo is just a short walk from the bus stop. The bus fare is IDR 3,600.
