From the city center of Yogyakarta, head to the nearest bus stop at Malioboro Street. Look for the Trans Jogja bus number 1A or 1B. Board the bus heading towards Prambanan. Stay on the bus until you reach the Prambanan Temple stop (approximately 30-40 minutes). Upon disembarking, look for local signage or ask locals for directions to Ijo Temple, which is around 4 kilometers away. You may take a motorcycle taxi (ojek) from the Prambanan stop to Ijo Temple, which will take about 10-15 minutes.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from any rental shop in Yogyakarta. Start from Malioboro and head east towards Jl. Jend. Sudirman. Continue onto Jl. Raya Solo and follow the signs for Prambanan. The ride to Ijo Temple from the city center will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you reach the Prambanan area, ask for directions to Jl. Candi Ijo, where the temple is located.
Walking and Local Transport
Begin your journey from the city center at Tugu Yogyakarta. Walk to the nearest main road, Jl. Malioboro, and then head towards the Trans Jogja bus stop. Take the bus number 1A or 1B to Prambanan Temple. After arriving at Prambanan, you can walk to the temple area and then take a local ojek (motorcycle taxi) for the remaining distance to Ijo Temple, which is about 4 kilometers away.
