Public Bus
From Ames, head to the CyRide bus stop nearest to you. Check the CyRide schedule for routes that head towards Des Moines. You will want to take the Route 1 (Red) or Route 2 (Blue) bus towards Des Moines. After approximately 30-40 minutes, you will arrive at the Des Moines downtown area. Once you get off at the downtown stop, walk east on Grand Avenue for about 15 minutes until you reach 1330 Grand Ave. The Pappajohn Sculpture Park will be on your right.
Bicycle
If you enjoy cycling, rent a bike from a local bike rental shop in Ames. Start by heading south on Lincoln Way, then take a left onto 13th Street and continue until you reach the South Skunk River Trail. Follow the trail south towards Des Moines. After approximately 8 miles, you will arrive at the edge of Des Moines. From there, navigate to Grand Avenue, and head east for about 2 miles until you reach 1330 Grand Ave. Pappajohn Sculpture Park will be on your right side.
Walking
If you are up for a long walk, start from the center of Ames and head south on Main Street. Continue straight until you reach Lincoln Way, then turn right. Follow Lincoln Way until you reach the intersection with 13th Street. Turn left onto 13th and keep walking until you reach the South Skunk River Trail. Follow the trail south towards Des Moines, which is about 8 miles away. Once you reach downtown Des Moines, make your way to Grand Avenue and head east for roughly 2 miles to reach 1330 Grand Ave where Pappajohn Sculpture Park is located.
