Turn left onto NW 36th St and follow this road until you reach the intersection with NW 125th Ave. Turn right onto NW 125th Ave. Big Creek State Park will be on your left after about 2 miles. The total distance is approximately 5 miles. Enjoy the scenic route through the park!

    From Ankeny, take the bus route 1 towards Des Moines. Get off at the stop at NW 36th St & S Ankeny Blvd. From there, walk north on NW 36th St until you reach the intersection with NW 125th Ave. Turn right onto NW 125th Ave and continue walking for about 2 miles. Big Creek State Park will be on your left. The total travel time is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, depending on the bus schedule.

    If you're starting from the center of Ankeny, begin at the Ankeny Market & Pavilion at 715 SW 3rd St. Head west on 3rd St until you reach S Ankeny Blvd. Turn left and walk south for about 0.5 miles. Turn right onto NW 36th St and continue for about 1.5 miles until you reach NW 125th Ave. Turn left onto NW 125th Ave and you will see Big Creek State Park after walking approximately 2 miles. The total walking distance is about 4.5 miles and will take around 1.5 hours.
