Public Transit
From any location in Ankeny, head to the nearest bus stop that services the Des Moines area. You can take the DART (Des Moines Area Regional Transit) bus route 1, which operates frequently. Board the bus heading towards downtown Des Moines. Stay on the bus for approximately 30-35 minutes. Once you reach the stop at Grand Ave & 14th St, disembark the bus. From there, walk south on 14th St for about 2 blocks until you reach Grand Ave. Turn left (east) on Grand Ave, and you will find Pappajohn Sculpture Park located at 1330 Grand Ave on your right side.
Bicycle
If you prefer biking, rent a bicycle from a local bike-sharing service available in Ankeny. Start your ride by heading south towards Des Moines using the Ankeny bike trails. Follow the trail markers that direct you to the city. Once you arrive in Des Moines, continue toward downtown. Use the bike lanes on 14th St to head south. When you reach Grand Ave, turn left (east) and continue for a short distance until you see Pappajohn Sculpture Park at 1330 Grand Ave.
Walking
If you're up for a long walk and in good shape, you can walk from Ankeny to Des Moines. Start by heading south on NE 14th St. Follow this road for about 8 miles until you reach the downtown area of Des Moines. Once you get to downtown, turn left onto Grand Ave and walk for a few more blocks. Pappajohn Sculpture Park will be on your right at 1330 Grand Ave. This walk will take you approximately 2-3 hours, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated.
