Getting There

  • Walking

    If you're starting from downtown Cedar Rapids, head south on 1st St SE. Continue walking straight until you reach 8th Ave SE. At the intersection, turn left onto 8th Ave SE and continue walking for about 0.5 miles. You will see The History Center on your left at 800 2nd Ave SE, just after crossing the intersection with 2nd St SE.

  • Public Transit

    If you are near the Cedar Rapids Public Library, you can take the Cedar Rapids Transit bus. Board Route 2 (Cedar Rapids East) at the library. Stay on the bus for approximately 10 minutes and get off at the stop near 2nd Ave SE and 8th St SE. From there, walk south on 2nd Ave SE for about 0.2 miles, and The History Center will be on your right at 800 2nd Ave SE.

  • Biking

    If you have access to a bike, you can take the Cedar River Trail starting from the downtown area. Head east along the trail until you reach 2nd Ave SE. Turn left onto 2nd Ave SE and continue for about 0.3 miles. The History Center will be on your left at 800 2nd Ave SE.
