If you are driving, start by getting onto I-380 N from Cedar Valley. Continue on I-380 N for about 20 miles. Take exit 24 for US-30 E toward Mt. Vernon. Merge onto US-30 E and continue for approximately 12 miles. Take the exit toward Mt. Vernon. At the traffic light, turn right onto 1st St NW. Follow 1st St NW until you reach a roundabout, and take the first exit onto W Mt Vernon Rd. The Abbe Creek School Museum will be on your left at 877 W Mt Vernon Rd, Mt Vernon, IA 52314. There is usually free parking available on-site.
