If you are in downtown Council Bluffs, start at the Council Bluffs Public Library located at 400 Willow Ave. Head west on Willow Ave towards 4th St. Continue until you reach 4th St, then turn left. Walk south on 4th St for about 0.5 miles until you reach W Broadway St. Cross W Broadway St and continue walking on 4th St. After you pass the intersection with Main St, keep walking straight until you reach the intersection with Park Ave. Turn right onto Park Ave and proceed for about 0.3 miles. The Kinsman Monument will be located at the intersection of Park Ave and 9th St, surrounded by Civil War cannons.
Public Transit
Start at the nearest bus stop in downtown Council Bluffs, such as the stop at 16th St and W Broadway. Take the Metro Transit Route 3 bus heading towards the Council Bluffs Public Library. Get off at the Park Ave stop. From the bus stop, walk south on Park Ave for about 0.2 miles. The Kinsman Monument will be on your left at the intersection with 9th St.
Bicycling
If you have a bicycle, start at the Council Bluffs Recreational Trail near the Missouri River. Follow the trail heading north until you reach the intersection with W Broadway St. Turn left onto W Broadway St and ride west for approximately 0.8 miles. When you reach 4th St, turn right and head north. Continue until you reach Park Ave, then turn left. The Kinsman Monument will be located at the intersection with 9th St on your right.
