Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start by navigating to West Union, IA 52175. From the center of West Union, head southwest on 1st St NW toward W Elm St. Continue straight onto IA-150 S. After approximately 4 miles, turn left onto County Road W26. Follow this road for about 2 miles, then turn right onto Dutton Cave Park Road. The park entrance will be on your left. Parking is available on-site, and it is free.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, check for local bus services that operate in the Driftless Area. The nearest bus station may be in West Union. Once you arrive in West Union, you can take a taxi or rideshare service to Dutton Cave Co Park, as public transport options may be limited directly to the park. The estimated taxi fare from the bus station to the park is around $10-$15.

• Bicycle

  For those who prefer cycling, if you are already in West Union, you can rent a bike from a local rental shop. From the center of West Union, follow the same route as if you were driving: head southwest on 1st St NW, then take IA-150 S, and then County Road W26 to Dutton Cave Park. Ensure you wear a helmet and follow local traffic rules. The ride is approximately 6 miles and should take around 30-40 minutes.

• Walking

  If you are staying close to the park or prefer walking, you can walk from West Union. The park is about 6 miles away. Take the same route: head southwest on 1st St NW, then onto IA-150 S, and finally onto County Road W26. This walk will take approximately 2-3 hours, so plan accordingly and wear comfortable shoes. Be mindful of traffic as you walk along the road.
