From the heart of the Driftless Area, head towards U.S. Route 61. Depending on your starting point, you may need to navigate local roads to reach this highway. Once you're on U.S. Route 61, continue heading south until you reach the exit for IL-84 N in Illinois. Take the exit and turn right onto IL-84 N. Follow IL-84 N for approximately 10 miles until you see the signs for the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge. Turn left onto Riverview Rd and follow it to the refuge entrance at 7071 Riverview Rd, Thomson, IL 61285.
