Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Des Moines, take I-80 W and merge onto I-35 N toward Ames. Continue on I-35 N for about 35 miles. Take exit 113 for US-30 W toward Carroll. After approximately 25 miles, take the exit onto US-71 N. Follow US-71 N for about 30 miles until you reach Brayton. In Brayton, turn right onto 350th St. Follow 350th St for about 2 miles. You will see the Tree in the Road on your right side at 2401-2449 350th St. Note that the last stretch is on gravel road.

• Public Transportation

  For public transportation, start by taking a bus from your location in Eastern Iowa to a nearby city with a major bus terminal, such as Carroll. You may need to check the schedules for local transit options to Carroll. Once in Carroll, you can either rent a car or use a rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft) to reach Brayton. The distance from Carroll to Brayton is approximately 20 miles, so be prepared for this additional cost.

  If you are already in Brayton, using a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft is a convenient way to reach Tree in the Road. Simply open the app, enter 2401-2449 350th St, Brayton, IA 50042 as your destination, and follow the driver's directions. The cost will depend on the distance and current demand.
